Local Development Scheme
The Local Development Scheme is the project plan which sets out our three year timetable for producing our planning documents.
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out North Norfolk District Council's programme for the preparation of documents under the new plan-making system. It's purpose is:
The LDS is a public statement of what we are proposing to do and when, and at what stage individuals and groups can be involved in the plan-making process.
The first LDS was submitted to the Government Office on 15th March 2005 and was approved in April 2005. However, in light of Regional Spatial Strategy slippage the timetable changed and the preferred options stage was delayed to Autumn 2006 (to allow the receipt of the Regional Spatial Strategy Panel Report). The LDS was therefore reviewed and was resubmitted in December 2005 and adopted by the Council in April 2006.
It became necessary to review the LDF document production timetable again following the deferral of the consultation on the Gypsy & Traveller sites as part of the Site Specific Proposals and commencement of the Coastal Area Action Plan.
Therefore a new LDS (Second Revision) was submitted to Government Office in September 2006 and was adopted by Full Council on 13th December 2006.
A Third Revision LDS has since been produced to reflect further changes to the timetable. These changes were; delaying the submission of the Core Strategy and Site Specific Proposals and removal of the Coastal Area Action Plan from the LDF process. The LDS (Third Revision) was considered and approved for adoption by the Full Council committee on May 16th. To view the document please click the link below.
