Railway
At one time there was a railway station in the village. The Station Master's house now being a private residence.
The nearest railway station to the village is at North Walsham. Direct trains operate from there to Norwich and Sheringham. These stop at various villages along the way.
Norwich is a main line station from where routes to other UK stations operate.

At present the train operator is 'One Railway'. Their timetables can be viewed on www.onerailway.com. Alternatively, telephone 'One Railway' on 08457 484950

On foot:
Knapton is fortunate in having easy access to a number of footpath routes. 'The Green Lane' runs from the old station master's house to North Walsham, in places running along the Paston Way.

Short but sweet, this one mile of former railway line runs from the edge of North Walsham almost to the hamlet of Knapton, for an easy road link to Mundesley on the coast. The surface is firm but there are steep access steps, which means carrying your bike. Please note that the full length of the Paston Way runs for eight miles from North Walsham to Cromer, but it is only lawful to ride on the old railway section. Where the rest of the route is off-road, it is footpath only.
