Temporary Register
Then we need you!
The Council operates a temporary register from which managers (internally) can select temporary staff to fill temporary vacancies within their section. The main area of work from the register is for Administrative/Clerical staff.
- How does the process work?
- What do I have to do to register?
- What do I need to include on the application form?
- Do I have to state that I am looking for temporary work?
- How long will my details stay on the file?
- When will I find out if there are any temporary vacancies for me?
- How long will I be employed?
- What hours will I be asked to work?
How does the process work?
Managers will go through the register and select applications from individuals who closely match the skills and experiences they are looking for. Those individuals will then be asked to come in for a chat, which could then lead to temporary work being offered to them.
What do I have to do to register?
You will need to complete an application form, which can be obtained in one of the following ways:
- By downloading an application form
- By writing to Human Resources Service, North Norfolk District Council, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk NR27 9EN
- By emailing: hr@north-norfolk.gov.uk
- By telephoning: 01263 516035
The completed application form then needs to be returned to Human Resources Service by either posting it at the above address or emailing it to hr@north-norfolk.gov.uk
If you have any questions, please contact us on the above contact details.
What do I need to include on the application form?
The more information you give us regarding your skills/qualifications/experiences, the easier it is to match you to a vacancy. We would also like to know what computer software you have experience of using.
Do I have to state that I am looking for temporary work?
You will need to put on the application form under 'position applied for' that you want your details to be entered onto the temporary register. It also helps if you state whether or not you are looking for full-time and/or part-time work and if you give us the date from which you will be available for work.
How long will my details stay on the file?
Your details will stay on the file for 6 months after which they will be removed from the register unless you have requested otherwise.
When will I find out if there are any temporary vacancies available for me?
There is no guarantee that there will be an offer of temporary work. This does depend if there are any temporary vacancies that match your skills and experience.
How long will I be employed?
Depends on your availability and how long the manager needs someone to help out.
What hours will I be asked to work?
This does depend on what is required and if you have indicated whether you require part time or full time employment.
