Parish News 145 (March 2009)
Poultry Smell There has been a persistent smell of chickens throughout the village since before Christmas util well in to the New Year and recently there have been occasional days of chicken smell; parishioners in Pudding Norton, Green Lane have also had issues with the smell. It is suspected that this unpleasant odour has been emanating from the poultry unit located within the Parish. The Environment agency has been approached to see if this issue can be addressed. Parishioners affected by the smell have been requested to keep a log and have been advised that the poultry unit cycle is 42 days long with the strongest smells expected towards the end of the cycle. Copies of the log can be obtained from Peter or Sarah Durke on 01328 863404 or via e-mail (peter_durke@excite.com).
