Greenbuild 2009 – Another great success!
This year's event at Felbrigg Park, near Cromer in North Norfolk, was enjoyed by over 7,000 visitors, an increase from 4,500 in 2008. We had 50 exhibitors including a number of active demonstrators, as well as speakers on a range of environmental topics. A new presence this year was 8 stalls offering a range of local goods in our Farmer’s market.
Catering was a big success, too, with organic and local produce available, while the family entertainment on offer was enjoyed by adults and children alike.
Greenbuild 2010 will take place once again at Felbrigg Park over the weekend of 11 and 12 September, 10.30am – 4pm.
Greenbuild is free to all!
This years event also coincided with the Felbrigg Hall open day, where National Trust gardeners ran Guided tours of the beautiful walled garden.
Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm supports Greenbuild 2009
Greenbuild 2009 was supported by Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm, which is being developed by Scira Offshore Energy Limited.
Scira is jointly owned by StatoilHydro, a world leading operator of offshore oil and gas fields, and Statkraft, a utility and Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy. StatoilHydro will be the operator for the project during the development phase.
Sheringham Shoal will be built on a 35 kilometre square site located around 20 kilometres due north of Sheringham in North Norfolk. It will consist of 88 wind turbines, each one being 80 metres [260 feet] high. When fully operational by the end of 2011, the wind farm will produce 1.1TWh of green electricity every year, which is roughly equivalent to the annual consumption of around 220,000 British homes.
