Missed Collections

Household Waste, Recycling and Garden Bins

Your bins should be placed at the edge of your property, with the handles of the bin facing the road, by 7am on the day that the collection is due. 

If the bin is not at the correct collection point at the time that the collection vehicle arrives, the bin will not be emptied, and our contractor will not return to empty it until the next scheduled collection is due.

Please note that the contractor will not be required to return to empty a bin which they have notified us is:

• Overweight
• Contaminated  - view a list of items we accept for recycling
• Not at the correct collection point
• Inaccessible

You will be required to rectify the problem before the next scheduled collection date, at which time the crew will collect the waste

The crew will not collect any additional bags of waste left next to the household waste bin, however, extra recyclables left in a clear plastic bag or cardboard box, will be collected if left next to the household recycling bin.

In order for us to ask our contractor to return to collect a missed bin, all missed collections must be reported to us within 5 working days of the collection due date. If you think that your bin has been missed, please call us on 0300 123 1163.  If reported and accepted by 12pm collection will be made by 5pm that day. If reported after 12pm collection will be completed by 9am the following day. Unless we have received notification of a problem encountered while attempting collection.

Trade Waste

Your bins or sacks should be accessible to the crew by 7am on the day that the collection is due. 

Please note that the contractor will not be required to return to empty a bin or collect sacks which they have notified us are:

• Not at the correct/agreed collection point
• Inaccessible

You will still be charged for any such attempted collections and be required to rectify the problem before the crew will collect the waste at the next scheduled collection date.
