Food Safety & Hygiene

Register your Food Business
All food businesses must be registered with their local authority at least 28 days before they open or change ownership.

Food Hygiene Courses and Safer Food Better Business Training
North Norfolk District Council provides the CIEH accredited Foundation Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering and Safer Food Better Business Training.

First Aid and Manual Handling Training
North Norfolk District Council in conjunction with St John Ambulance runs Emergency First Aid at Work courses at the Council Offices, and also offers other health and safety related training.

Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
North Norfolk District Council has introduced a 'scores on doors' scheme involving all businesses that serve open food to customers in the area. All food catering premises having a food hygiene inspection will be given a star rating to show the level of compliance with food safety legislation.

North Norfolk District Council Commercial Team tests about 150 boreholes and wells annually, throughout the year.
The NNDC Environmental Health Enforcement Policy sets out principles of good enforcement and details how issues of Enforcement will be dealt with at NNDC.
