Complaints

If you are not satisfied with the way we have handled your request, with the fee we have charged, or with the reasons we have given for refusing to provide information, you have the right to appeal.

Please address your complaint/request for internal review to the Corporate Freedom of Information Officer. The Council's procedure for dealing with this is for the Council's Assistant Solicitor to conduct a review and a decision notice will be sent to you within 14 working days. If you are still unhappy with the decision you may then complain to the Information Commissioner.

The Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcing the operation of the Publication Scheme. In the case of a failure to deliver information through the Scheme, you may also appeal directly to the Information Commissioner at any time. Appeals to the Information Commissioner should be sent to:
