Help with your Council Tax

Council Tax Benefit is a national welfare benefit that is administered by North Norfolk District Council. The purpose of this is to help those on a low income to meet their Council Tax charge. However, many people do not claim the benefits that they are entitled to.

Council Tax Benefit can be claimed by completing an application form (the same form can also be used to claim Housing Benefit).  This form can be downloaded or can be obtained by visiting either our Cromer or Fakenham offices.  If you would like us to send one to you or require assistance completing your form please contact us. We can tell you if you are eligible to claim benefit and give you advice about how to claim.

You will also need to provide evidence in support of your claim. If you send a form without the evidence required we will write to you to tell you what we need, we will not be able to process your claim without the supporting evidence we ask for. All documents supplied as supporting evidence must be original documents, these will be copied by us then returned to you.

Additional information about benefit entitlement can be found on the Department for Works and Pensions website.
