The attendance policy has been reviewed and staff are being briefed during 2011. The revised policy now contains a health capability procedure to assist employees who have health related issues in achieving sustained improvements in attendance and/or work performance. Where this is not possible, alternative options will be considered as appropriate. Where there is no other reasonable alternative; one of these options may include dismissal.
The number of working days lost due to sickness absence per full time member of staff fell to 5.17 days it's lowest ever and below the target of 8 days.
