Overview
The areas covered by the department include:
- Financial Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Creditors
- Treasury Management
The main functions of the department are to:
- Prepare and monitor the councils Revenue & Capital Budgets
- Produce the Financial Plan & the Budget Book
- Close the councils accounts and produce the Financial Statements
- Report to members through Cabinet and Scrutiny Committees
- Maintain and develop the councils financial information system (eFinancials)
- Provide general financial advice
- Provide technical advice on VAT and legislative changes

Business Ratepayers Consultation Meeting
The Council will be holding a breakfast meeting at 8:30am on Wednesday 15th February 2012.
This meeting aims to give ratepayers the chance to discuss the Councils spending plans for the forthcoming financial year before they are finalised.
