Local Network Fund

local network fundlocal network fund

The Local Network Fund is a government grant available to groups working with children and youngsters 0 - 19, who are in some way disadvantaged. This can be for a variety of reasons; family circumstance, rural isolation and disability are some examples.

The amount of money that has been allocated to Norfolk (until April 2004) has increased substantially and North Norfolk groups that have yet to benefit from the LNF are being encouraged to apply. Small and emerging groups are a particular target of this fund though those that are more established can apply. There is support available with all aspects of project development and making an application. It maybe that a group of people are supporting children and young people and need help with formalising their activities - the LNF development worker can help!

Groups can apply for funding of between £250 and £7,000 and a wide variety of groups in North Norfolk including village groups, youth clubs, uniformed organisations and pre-schools have already benefited, receiving money for equipment, outings and arts and sports based activities.

Awards are made every six weeks - applications for August need to be submitted by the 24 July. If you think your group may be eligible for a Local Network Fund grant contact the National Call Centre on 0845 1130161 for an application pack.

If you would like to discuss a project ideas or need further support with an application please contact the Norfolk Rural Community Council and ask for the LNF Team: 01953 851408, e-mail lnfchildren@norfolkrcc.org.uk
