Town & Village Venues

Helping our community halls

Village halls at the heart of local communities, but they are having quite a lean time at the moment. To support them the Supporting Communities team at NNDC wrote in February to all town and parish clerks asking if their parish would like to advertise their halls on a new database to be set up on our web page www.northnorfolk.org. The response was very positive, with comments like:

"A very good idea - we need all the publicity we can get"

"I think having a directory of local community buildings on NNDC's website is an excellent idea. I have tried in the past to register our details on various local community websites but very few have a category for village halls"

The website will give details of each hall including information on capacity, number of rooms, facilities, parking access, directions, photograph and (only if the hall's booking agent will allow it) contact details. We aim to have the directory up and running by the end of the year to coincide with the launch of the Council's updated website.

Most communities would also like a link back to their own parish web-site, so this will also be included.

If you would like to advertise your hall or community centre on our website, please contact Dawn Travers, Supporting Communities, on 01263 516346 or email. dawn.travers@north-norfolk.gov.uk.
