Mundesley huts

We can’t guarantee the weather but all our facilities have great views of the sea and are no more than a few feet away from our celebrated beaches and colourful resorts.  All situated within walking distance of amenities, hiring a hut or chalet provides an ideal place to explore the surrounding area, store buckets and spades, get changed after a bracing swim or just relax with a good book.

Whether you are looking for peace and quiet or a base for family fun we have the ideal hut or chalet for you – at any time of the year! North Norfolk District Council lets purpose-built beach chalets at Cromer and Sheringham. There are also beach hut sites at Cromer, Sheringham, Overstrand and Mundesley.

Weekly Lets 2013

Cromer East Beach and Sheringham Chalets (brick construction) 

  • Peak  (orange banding) 2013 from £115/week (£135 for serviced chalets)
  • Off Peak  (yellow banding) 2013 £60/week  (£75 for serviced chalets)
  • Winter (blue banding) from 2013 £20/week or £60/four weeks

Cromer West Beach Chalets (brick construction) 

  • Peak  (orange banding) 2013 from £115/week
  • Off Peak  (yellow banding) 2013 £60/week
  • Winter (blue banding) from 2013 £20/week or £60/four weeks

Beach Huts at Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley  (wooden construction)

  • Peak (orange banding) 2013 £100/week
  • Off Peak (yellow banding) 2013 £45/week
  • No winter lets available

Most of the beach huts and chalets do not contain any utilities but four stackable chairs and a table are provided and toilet and catering facilities are within walking distance.   Users need to bring other beach equipment such as wind breaks etc. Two beach chalets (one Cromer, one Sheringham) do have electricity and water and are available from £135/week peak times and £75 per week off peak.

Some chalets at Cromer are situated close to disabled parking otherwise no parking is permitted on the Promenades. There are NNDC cliff top car parks at Mundesley, Overstrand and Cromer and limited free parking spaces at Sheringham.  Please down load our Weekly Let flyer  for further information.  It is also possible to hire chalets at Cromer during the winter season - prices start at £20 per week - please telephone for further details.

Annually Let Beach Hut Sites

Beach Huts North Norfolk District Council rents out beach hut sites along the promendades at

  • CROMER
  • SHERINGHAM
  • OVERSTRAND
  • MUNDESLEY

These sites are let on an annual/renewable basis.  Occupiers have to provide their own Beach Hut to a given specification.  Further information is available in the Beach Hut guide.  The cost of an annual let is currently £200 to £205 per year.  There is a waiting list for sites and if you wish to be added to the list please contact Property Services on 01263 516067 or email propertyservices@north-norfolk.gov.uk.

Annually Let Beach Chalets

North Norfolk District Council has a number of purpose-built permanent beach chalets at Cromer and Sheringham. The 2013/14 annual (1 April to 31 March) charge for renting a chalet is;
  • Cromer between £610 and £660 per year
  • Sheringham £660 to £790 per year

Most chalets and hut sites are let on a renewable annual licence for which there are considerable waiting lists. Currently waiting lists for chalets are closed to customers for Cromer East Beach and Sheringham but we are accepting details from those interested in hiring Chalets on Cromer West Beach and hut sites at Sheringham, Cromer West and Mundesley.

Cromer

Forthcoming Sea Defence work at Cromer

For the past few years the Council’s Coast Protection team have been pursuing £10m funding to address current/future structural failures of the Cromer Sea Defences and Promenade.  Funding has now been achieved which will result in a programme of improvements to strengthen the prom foundations and walls.  The works programme will not be agreed until later this year but once agreed will affect all promenade users including the licence holders of chalets and huts.  The Coast Protection team are hoping to programme works to the East Promenade in the winter of 2013/14, and if the works are programmed for winter of 2013 and access to the chalets is impossible, we may have to curtail the Licence period for this year.  This will not affect your position with regard to its renewal in 2014.   As stated, at this stage, the programme of works has not been finalised and therefore we are unable to confirm during which winter access to your chalet will be affected.  Further details will be made available in due course.
