Course content will balance generic management knowledge and skills with case studies and projects which centre upon the particularities of these sectors. The course will have a work-related learning dimension and opportunities for self-negotiated study, enabling it to be undertaken in the workplace, if appropriate.

From April The Open University and Trinity College London will be running a national continuing professional development (CPD) programme for music practitioners. The programme is designed to give professional support to all those involved in working with pupils in primary schools and particularly those involved in the delivery of whole-class instrumental and vocal music provision at Key Stage 2. The programme is particularly appropriate for practitioners working, or with plans to work, in schools which are benefiting from DfES funding for the expansion of Wider Opportunities programmes.
