Rangers and Countryside Volunteers
The Country Parks are managed by North Norfolk District Council who employ four Rangers, some of which are part-time, which is why help is always very welcome from volunteers.
Existing volunteers have said they find the work rewarding and some are currently doing this as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. The volunteers not only provide valuable help to the service but allows them to carry out work on their own doorstep and bring new ideas to life!
You could be helping out with habitat work, ecological surveys, practical conservation work or public relations work in the visitor centre at Holt Country Park.
We welcome volunteers of all ages. It is a great way to meet new people as well as learn new skills. This is an excellent opportunity for work experience students.

Get fit without going to the gym
An exciting new project aims to offer FREE opportunities for local people to get active and get access to nature. This is exercise for people who hate the gym. You don’t need any experience or knowledge, and there is definitely no Lycra! There will be a mixture of practical work to improve green spaces with learning about the natural world, and lots of fun. For further information please visit the North Norfolk Workout Project page.
