CCTV

The introduction of CCTV has been a successful component in the ‘toolkit’ to fight crime and disorder. It has been proved effective in both cutting and detecting crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and because of this, people now feel safer when they are out and about in North Norfolk.
North Norfolk has CCTV cameras covering industrial estates, public car parking and shopping areas in Cromer, North Walsham, Wells, Sheringham and Fakenham. Everyone benefits from the safer environment that CCTV cameras and their Operators have delivered from reducing crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour, providing a public safety service by reuniting children with parents or carers, helping people find their cars in car parks, updating local radio with news about traffic flow, calling emergency services when someone is taken ill or locating someone who has gone missing.
