  • Provide a focal point for the different statutory and voluntary agencies within Norfolk with older people in the district of North Norfolk.
  • Raise the profile of older people within the district of North Norfolk and the county of Norfolk.
  • Act as a focal point for consultations prior to the setting, shaping and implementation of policies and services affecting older people at local and national level.

The Forum is an independent organisation supported by officers from North Norfolk District Council and Help the Aged.

How North Norfolk Older People’s Forum Works

North Norfolk Older People’s Forum is part of a two-tier structure operating at district and county level called Norfolk Older People’s Forum.  Most districts in Norfolk (including North Norfolk) have a local older people’s forum.  Each of these district older people’s forums acts as a local point of reference for decision-makers who wish to consult with older people in each district.  Local forums sometimes also campaign on issues of importance to older people within their area.  Each district forum helps to inform the Norfolk Older People’s Forum of which, NNOPF is a key member.

North Norfolk Older People’s Forum holds three public meetings a year, concentrating on key issues of concern identified by older people, minutes of which, can be viewed below.
