Playing Field
The Playing Field on Bridge Road was left to the Parish Council by the late Mr. Elden in 1979 on condition that it was maintained as a recreational area for the inhabitants of Banningham and Colby. It has always been understood that if this use ceased, then the field would revert to the ownership of Highbury Farm.

The remains of the old equipment were removed some years ago, and two years ago a complete system of land drainage was installed to make the soil free draining to eliminate previous problems. The next stage was to level and re-seed, as part of a long term plan.
Cutting is carried out by Steve's Landscape Garden services and the surrounding ditches have been cleaned out to make sure all the underground drains can continue to flow freely.

The current plan for the field is available by clicking on the link below, however this may be altered once the Working Party has had the opportunity to discuss the comments in the recently published Parish Plan.
-
The Parish Council plans to combine with "Wild About Colby" to look at some environmental aspects of the field this spring.
