Environment Awards deadline: 11 June
Entries for the 2010 North Norfolk Environment Awards must be in by Friday, 11 June.
The awards are given annually by North Norfolk District Council to recognise the work and projects that have made the biggest and best contributions to the environment and sustainability of the district in the past year, in four categories: School, Community Group, Building, and Small Business.
One further project that has special merits will win the John Sweeney Award, given in memory of the late Councillor John Sweeney, former Leader of North Norfolk District Council and champion of environmental issues.
Category winners win a £250 prize and receive a plaque recognising their success; both winners and runners-up are presented with a certificate. The John Sweeney Award is a hand-made trophy.
Entries must be received by NNDC by Friday, 11 June. For information, and an entry form, visit www.northnorfolk.org/environment/215.asp. You can also call 01263 516331 or email sustainability@north-norfolk.gov.uk
The awards will be presented during the 2010 Green Build sustainable living event at Felbrigg Hall, near Cromer, on 11 and 12 September.
