Highway Remedial Adoption Works at Wymans Way, Fakenham
In 1999/2000, North Norfolk District Council acquired approximately 3 hectares of land off George Edwards Road on the main Fakenham Industrial Estate into which it provided road and utility infrastructure so as to provide serviced plots for freehold development by new and expanding businesses. This area of land, developed as a Phase 4 extension to the Fakenham Industrial Estate, was subsequently named Wymans Way. Whilst initially, sales of plots of land within the development were slow, all available land has now been sold, with most plots developed. With most of the plots now having seen development and connections made into utility services, the District Council needs to arrange for roads and sewers within the development to be adopted. The Council therefore wishes to invite tenders for the undertaking of the remedial adoption works which are required to bring road and foul and surface water drainage infrastructure up to adoptable standard, prior to adoption by Anglian Water and the Highway Authority.
The works principally involve laying the surface course on approximately 2,000m² of road (HRA) and the reforming/resurfacing of approximately 1,400m² of footways (HRA) together with minor ancillary works to the kerbs, verges, street lights and drains at Wymans Way, Fakenham.
Plans showing the location and detail of the works can be downloaded as a pdf file here - Wymans Way Fakenham.pdf (311kb)
