Selecting TenderersNorth Norfolk District Council encourages competition and welcomes bids from both new and established suppliers. Contracts must be awarded on the basis of obtaining value for money for the taxpayer. The authority cannot discriminate in favour of local suppliers, as this is deemed to be 'anti-competitive', but local suppliers will be given every encouragement to compete for Council contracts. The benefit of dealing with the authority is that the Council has to be fair, non-discriminatory, honest and professional in the way it awards contracts and chooses its suppliers and in any dealings it has with them. The Council pays promptly in line with national standards and agreed contract terms. Before becoming a contractor you may be required to submit information on your company, usually in the form of a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) or as part of an invitation to tender (ITT). Companies who are invited to submit tenders may be selected in a variety of different ways depending on the market relevant to the service, work or goods to be purchased.
