Bailiff Services for Commercial Landlords

Are you a commercial landlord?

Did you know that this District Council provides a Bailiff Service which can help you recover rent arrears, at no extra charge to yourself?

This service is available to commercial landlords anywhere in Norfolk.

We at North Norfolk District Council understand that the key to successful property management is the guarantee of cash flow through regular rent collection.

A lot of commercial landlords are afraid to use Bailiffs to recover their rent arrears, worried that sending "the boys" in will affect their landlord - tenant relationship. We at North Norfolk realise that relationships matter, our approach is fast yet discreet, sympathetic yet firm, but above all, effective.

Since establishing our in-house "Bailiff Services" almost 6 years ago, primarily to collect Council Tax and Business Rates we have seen our collection rates soar.

We have a team of highly experienced Certificated Bailiffs, who annually visit in excess of 2,500 customers and who for the last 2 year years running, have been the most effective collectors of Council Tax in Norfolk. Last year, we collected nearly 99½% of Business rates when due.

We can now offer this same, effective service for the collection of your commercial rent arrears.

Completion of the attached "Authorisation form" is all we need to act on your behalf. You need no Court order and so long as your lease stipulates the tenant is liable for all fees associated with rent recovery, WE CAN ACT AT NO COST TO YOU.

The forms below are available for downloading and comprise an instruction for the bailiff to act on your behalf. A signature is required and so the forms should be signed and returned via fax or post (fax number and address are shown on the form).

If you require any other information, or wish to discuss your specific requirements, please contact our Bailiff Manager at bailiffs@north-norfolk.gov.uk
