Holiday Activities for Families in Holt Country Park
Holt Country Park, Edgefield Road, Holt
For the past few years, NNDC's Arts and Countryside Services have worked together to deliver the increasingly popular Art in the Park programme in our Green Flag awarded Holt Country Park. To sustain and develop these creative family learning opportunities, we have been working with Holt Area Partnership, Holt Town Council, Holt Youth Project and Holt Library. Through a grant of £10,000 from the BIG Lottery's Awards for All fund, the partnership now offers an exciting, enjoyable and educational programme of events taking place in Holt Country Park during the forthcoming holiday periods. No booking required; just turn up on the day and enjoy!

Beach Hut Art Project
Saturday 12th - 26th July 2008
Two North Norfolk artists, Fiona Davies and Peter Talbot are doing a community art project and appealing for help from the public & other artists. The project is environmental and involves a beach clean up from East Runton to Overstrand. They hope to build an alternative beach hut and sculptures for a sculpture walk, from the debris found on the beach. Anyone can be involved, at anytime over the next two weeks, Saturday 12th - 26th July 2008, even if you only pick up one piece while you walk your dog. Anyone can make an artwork, any medium, in response to the project. The sculptures will be placed along the beach and cliffs. Artworks of other mediums will then be exhibited at the Henry Blogg museum in August.
The dates are as follows:
12th - 16th, East Runton beach
17th - 21st, Cromer beach
22nd - 26th, Overstrand beach
Please come and help on any day you wish, for as long as you wish, Fiona will be there between approximately 10.30 am - 4.30pm
A wheelie bin will be available outside the Henry Blogg Museum, Cromer, to deposit drift wood and materials suitable to use for art.
The Project doesn't need funding but any donations of gloves & bin bags would be very much appreciated.
If you wish to know any more details please ring Fiona on 07966 749591
